On 27 August 2020, the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) hosted a virtual event to discuss the current situation of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar and in refugee camps in Bangladesh, and pending international lawsuits against Myanmar and its officials.
AJC Member BROUK’s President Tun Khin joined, among others, Naomi Kikoler (Simon-Skjodt Center for the Prevention of Genocide) and Wai Wai Nu (USHMM Fellow) in discussing recommendations for US policymakers to alleviate the plight of Rohingya refugees and to hold Tatmadaw leaders accountable.
